Cat for Adoption

Basil and Juniper

We are the named the Spicey2 Family because the winners of a Hungry and Homeless Cat Rescue Naming Auction donated to name a family of kittens - in memory of their own sweet foster mama cat Cinnamon.  However, both of our Rescue's pregnant cats at that time (Simone & Anise) lost their kittens, so we are now the lucky family to be named! Therefore, in honour of Cinnamon who had her own litter of "Spice Kittens" (and because Hungry and Homeless Cat Rescue already has its own Spice  Family), we are now the "Spicey2" Family.

We were born on May 11, 2013 under a deck in a family's backyard. The rescuers did not have cats, and were puzzled to hear mewing coming from under their deck. When they investigated, they were shocked to see our mom Angelica nursing us 5 newborns! Because the family had dogs and were worried for our safety, they brought us inside. They had no litter or any supplies for cats, so Mama Angelica continued to go outside to do her business. Thank goodness she is a wonderful mom and didn't abandon us in the strange new house! However Momma Angelica was very happy to be brought inside with her kittens. She had intelligently chosen where to give birth to us. The family whose deck we were born under turned out to be friends with one of our Rescue's fosters - who agreed to foster us. So that's our story - as far back as the Rescue knows! What Mama Angelica's previous story was, no one knows. Likely another lost or abandoned un-spayed cat that no one cared about.... :-(

We were transfered to our new foster home on May 19th, and will be ready to be adopted in August - once we are weaned at 10-12 weeks old. You can reserve us now if you like:

BASIL: I'm the other cute black & white kitten but because I'm a bigger boy, I have a much bigger black smudge on my nose.
