I was nicknamed "Blackie" by my rescuer, and the name stuck. I showed up in my rescuer's garden in Manotick one snowy day last March. My rescuer ignored me at first - thinking that either I was a wild cat or an owned cat. However, after my rescuer noticed that I was always around and quite thin, she started feeding me. At first I kept my distance. One day, my rescuer put the food out for me, and sat & waited for me. Sure enough, I came along to eat. My rescuer sat still, put out her hand to me, and that was it! I pushed against her hand, and since that day have not stopped asking for pats and following my rescuer around everywhere! Not much is known about my past, other than I was an owned cat at some point. I was either lost, but most likely abandoned. Thankfully my previous owners had neutered me prior to my living outside,  so at least I was not producing additional kittens.....

I have been vet-checked, and tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. I was vaccinated, de-wormed and de-fleaed. The vet can corroborate what a good boy I am. When I was first examined and given my vaccines, I just purred away! (I actually quite enjoyed the attention and being patted!) I am a handsome short-hair black &  white male tuxedo cat - about two years old. I have a white moustache on my black face. The vet says I am a very handsome, happy and healthy boy!

I get along with other cats - I am not aggressive towards them nor do I try and steal their food. I am also great with kids and love their attention. Many children came to my rescuer's home, and I would greet them all outside and wait for their pats. I would flop down and roll around so that they would pat me. Sadly, none of them wanted to bring me home. My rescuer was not able to keep me in her garden, so I am looking for a permanent home.

My rescuer says that I am a special cat who brings so much love, that she hopes I will go to a special family who will love me as much!  I would love a home with kind gentle children who would give me a lot of attention. Will you please give me a second chance at a real, permanent home - where I won't be abandoned outside again?
