Cat for Adoption

I am an incredibly handsome cat, that pictures do not do
justice to! I have a thick plush shiny coat and big bright eyes. I am a
short-hair tabby with gorgeous markings. And not only am I gorgeous, but
I have the sweetest most affectionate personality to boot! I am such a
cuddly lap kitty and can be quite chatty!
Not much is known about my history, other than I have been
living outside for the past 4 years in Vanier / Overbrook area. I am
about 5 years old. I was previously neutered, but no one responded to
the found report for me yet. A kind lady fed me outside regularly, and
even built an insulated cat structure for me. So, for the past few
years, I lived in her yard and in the neighbourhood.
Despite my sweet personality and gentle nature, I was
quite protective of my food and shelter, and was quite fierce at keeping
other cats away. One day, about one year and 9 months ago, a new cat
showed up. He was terrified and lost, and neutered like me. He showed up
in the garden, laying on one of the lady's patio chairs. At first, I
tried to chase him off, but because he was so gentle and kind and
didn't fight back, I let him stay. He was Sammie.
Not long after, we became friends. I loved hanging out with him in the
garden. We sunned together, roamed the neighbourhood together, played
together and ate together. I let him share my house, and in the winter,
we huddled together to stay warm.
Just over a year and a half later, one day Sammie disappeared. Poor Sammie
had gotten stuck under a fence and his legs and tail had frozen. He was
unable to move. And then he was gone! I looked for him frantically, and
called out to him everyday, but could not find him.
A week later on Valentine's Day, the lady that fed me put me inside a
carrier. I was a little unsure of what was happening. Then another kind
lady picked me up and brought me to a vet clinic. Despite all these
changes, I was quite content to sit in her arms and purr away. I got
checked out by the Vet and was given a clean bill of health. I tested
negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV, and was de-wormed and vaccinated.
And then the biggest surprise! At this strange new place, I saw Sammie ! He was still sick and housed in a pen. I was put in the pen with him, and was so happy to see him again. I stayed with Sammie
at the vet clinic for a few days, and then we were moved to a foster
home together. At first, I was scared in the new home, but now I am
super comfortable being inside. I really enjoy being with my foster mom
and dad, and love cuddling with them on the bed. I am also really happy
to be with my best friend Sammie , and we nap together during the day.
I had no idea that in saving Sammie's
life and letting him eat and sleep with me when he was homeless and
had nowhere to go, would later save mine and bring me inside during the
dreadfully cold winter! I would love to be adopted into a permanent home
with SAMMIE. We have been through a lot together, and would love to
remain together forever. Thanks for reading my story!
