Cat for Adoption

I am a sweet, happy, affectionate 9-month old kitten now, but that was not always the case. When my rescuers first saw me just before Christmas, I was a tiny little kitten outside - always with another cat. They thought that the other cat was my mother, but it was likely a tom cat. He was either after me because I was in heat, but more than likely, he was my father who delivered me to safety. Because as soon as he saw that I was safe inside, he left and never came back - not even for the food that continued to be left outside for him. :(

When my rescuers saw us outside in the terrible, freezing winter, they felt so sorry for us and regularly put food out for us. We were pretty scared of people though, so we would run off  and eat when no one was around. Eventually, we started trusting them more and dared to eat in front of them. No one could come near us though. Except for two special ones..... I should tell you that my rescuers include humans AND cats! Hope and Chance (rescue kittens themselves) saw me outside and befriended me. I trusted them because they were so sweet, and liked saying hi to them through the window.

One super cold day around Christmas time, I got into the garage - because I was so cold and hungry. The door ended up closing behind me, and I was pretty panicked. However, as soon as I saw Hope and Chance, I settled down. They came to visit and keep me company, so whenever they were around, I ate and relaxed. On one of their visits, I followed them into the house, and into a whole new world for me!

I was taken to the vet, where I was spayed, vaccinated and given a clean bill of heath (I tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV). The Rescue was looking for a foster home for me, but thankfully my rescuers ended up fostering me. I was really happy about that, as this way, I was able to stay with my favourite rescuers and companions - Hope and Chance. I eventually moved from my foster room, into the lower part of the house, and then into the main part of the home. Hope and Chance showed me around, and told me where the food was and where the kitty the toilets were. They showed me how much fun it was to play have humans play with us, and chase toys. This was all new to me, and I had to learn how to play. They also taught me how beautiful it was to have the humans show us affection. Before long, I followed suit and loved being petted by my fosters. I am now learning to sit in their laps.

I am still a little shy with people that I do not know, but if you take the time to earn my trust, I will be your devoted rescue kitty. Please adopt me!
