Cat for Adoption

Rafter Forrester rafter rafter

I was given the name RAFTER FORRESTER because I was rescued from Forrester Falls, at OWL Whitewater Rafting. I was a Rafter / Surfer kitty. I was likely an abandoned cat out in the country as no one was looking for me and no attempts were made to find me in the local area. I made my way to the rafting outfit, where I begged for assistance and lived with the crew there for a couple of weeks. Because they were going to be closing for the season in September, they were worried about what to do with me, so they contacted the Rescue. Forrester Falls is almost a couple of hours away from Ottawa, so the Rescue put a call out to see if anyone could come and collect me, as no one from the Rafting outfit was able to bring me to Ottawa.

My foster was the one who came to rescue me. She picked me up and we went straight to the vet for an exam, as I was pretty thin and frail looking. The vet said I was healthy, despite being a little thin. I tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. I was de-wormed and treated for the fleas that I was covered in.

My tummy was a little upset initially. Because the crew at the rafting outfit had no cat food for me, they gave me bits of hamburger and whatever food they had, which challenged my tummy. Now that I have been inside getting lots of rest and eating lots of good healthy small meals, I am on the road to recovery and regaining my strength, and a healthy handsome boy!

I am such a sweet boy - that's the first comment people always make when they meet me - including everyone at the vet clinic. I am super gentle, and soooo affectionate. I would love a home where someone will shower me with as much  love and attention as I will give you. I am super cuddly and love being patted. Now that I am getting stronger and healthier, I am learning to play.

I get along great with the resident cat in my foster home. He seems to like me, and I always rub my face on him to say hello. I would therefore do well in a home with another sweet playful cat.

I would love a permanent home where someone will cherish me for the rest of my life, and I will never get dumped or lost out in the country again, and never have to know starvation again. That was not fun, and I was so exhausted from that ordeal. I am lucky to have survived - many of us who get abandoned or dumped, do not. :(

I have been neutered and vaccinated, and am all ready for that special permanent home!
